Mom.  Nana.  Aunt. Daughter.  She is everything good in life.  My momma never seizes to amaze me with her strength.  She moves on with fierceness.  She doesn’t even realize she is doing it but she does.  She has seen so much sadness in her life and you would never even know.  She lives to make each and every one of us happy.  That is her destiny.  If I could even give just one iota back to her, I would.  But how could I?  I strive to be the mother that she has been to me my entire life.  But I don’t even compare.  She has a heart of gold.  She wears it on her sleeve and though sometimes it has gotten the best of her she never ever takes it off.  She never shows how tired she is or how weary her life has been.  She is no longer living in Arizona because once again she has chosen to do the better thing, by helping take care of her father who is an amazing 102 years old, in El Paso.  So far away from all her family that she now has.  Her children that love and miss her so much and her grandchildren that ask for her daily.  She is over there because that is where she needs to be at this time.  And that is OK.  She needs that.  She needs to be with my grandfather during this time and cherish those moments with him.  But we miss her sooooo much.  My heart aches that I can’t have her come over and stay the weekend or go to lunch or a movie any longer.  You know the chick flicks that my honey HATES watching with me.  It’s tough.  But she is doing her duties like a wonderful daughter should.  And I hope one day I can be that wonderful daughter when she needs me most.  I’m actually afraid that I won’t succeed.  But I hope she knows that I will try my best, in every possible way to make her happy and to make her proud.  This woman is the best!!!  THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! And I love her to pieces!!!!  Momma.  You are my world.  I could never ask for anything more from you than what you have given me and I am happy to call you my mother. My everything.  My rock.

 

 

My nephew, Jerry, got 1st place for making the best medicine bag.  And I can totally see why!!!

 

He also got a medal for Hardest Worker.  Wow.  I think my kids could learn a ton from him!

Sometimes so cool you would think you could not even touch him. But when he gets around his family he is so silly, goofy, an almost 19 year old stuck in a 12 year olds body. He is playful, funny, loving and ooooh so sweet. He makes my heart smile with is carefree ways. He has no limits. He will get what he wants out of life and he will be happy doing so. What Senior would ask for his mom to make a cameo in HIS photo shoot?? This guy!!! That is how cute he is. He has a huge heart and he deserves the best in life to come his way because of it. I love you Chris. I am so proud of you!! Here’s to the Class of 2010!!

We did the shoot at South Mountain.  And it was gorgeous!!!

She has such a compassionate heart and she is full of sunshine.  A HUGE ray of sunshine.  And she shares in my passion.  She loves modeling for me and she loves photographing as well.  She always loves to look at my photos and encourages me daily.  She is only nine but she acts well over her age.  She knows just the right things to say at all the right times.  She is known to make me smile when I am down and she knows when to bring the tissues if for some reason I can’t smile.  She loves beyond reason.  She is a slice of heaven.  I am so lucky to have her.  She means the world to me.  Leilani, thank you for always being you.  You will be anything your heart desires!  Momma loves you!!!

]]> http://www.denisephotography.net/blog/2010/04/leilaniflower-from-heaven/feed/ 0 Marlea http://www.denisephotography.net/blog/2010/04/marlea/ http://www.denisephotography.net/blog/2010/04/marlea/#comments Sun, 25 Apr 2010 20:45:04 +0000 admin http://www.denisephotography.net/blog/?p=1797 Marlea is such a sweet soul.  She is beautiful inside and out.  I am not sure that she knows that or not but these photos will tell you otherwise.  Marlea dreaded this day.  She argued with her mom about why she needed an hour of photos taken of her, she would already have tons taken at her Bat Mitzvah which I am proud to say I will be photographing in May.  Either way, I showed up and the rest is history.  Marlea is very talented and has many skills.  She loves to read and currently was enjoying The Lovely Bones.  I think I brought her out of her shell?   Wouldn’t you say so?  By the end of the shoot we were laughing and messing around and just plain having fun with it all.  When I got a text from her mom that evening.  My heart about popped.  She said, “I don’t know how you did it, but Marlea said she had the best time ever, you have such a talent with making people feel comfortable in front of the camera and making them feel beautiful.”   My heart was content.  I know it’s hard being in front of a camera.  But the person behind it needs to make you forget about it.  I don’t know how I do it, I just try and relate with my clients the way I would want someone to relate with me if I were in front of it.  :)   And maybe it’s because I don’t think of this as a job but more something I totally adore doing and have such a passion for that it all comes naturally.  Marlea, I can’t wait for your Bat Mitzvah and I know next time around it will be a cinch for you to pose for me and just be your beautiful self!! xoxo
