I have known this gorgeous doll for about 13 years now. She is such a wonderful friend of mine. We had just recently started talking on the phone a lot lately. She told me she had this idea. She wanted to do a Pin Up Photo Shoot. She scheduled to join a class on it and was beyond stoked. “Go with me, Go with me,” she says. Ummm hello I am in NO shape to be doing that type of session. I mean I will go with you to support you, I say to her. I will even stand behind the camera… but in front… UH UH. NO WAY JOSE! So the class was scheduled three weeks out. Then I got the phone call. The class got canceled. She was devastated! Heartbroken…Her dream had been crushed. I mean what was I suppose to do people?? OK Sara, take a deep breath I say (of course this entire story is totally full of drama right now, I hope you know), everything will be OK. Good thing I am a photographer. I’m pretty sure I can take these photos for you. As these words came out of my mouth… I was thinking… Oh No what did I get myself into??? I was instantly scared!! I have never done this before… I mean I am a Wedding Photographer, a Family Photographer…. not a Pin Up Expert!!! Yikes!!! But you know what?? I think we pretty much nailed it, don’t you?? Sara was a dream!!! She was so natural in front of that camera all I had to do was literally snap away! Love when that happens. The last few photos are of her and her camera. She has a new hobby. She has decided she wants to do Pin Up Photography in her spare time. She is a chemist. I am pretty sure she will learn how to rock that camera pretty quick. It’s all mathematics right? I am sure she will be teaching me a thing or two! Sara… you are a beautiful thing. You are very special to me. I really appreciate you believing in me and allowing me to step out of my box. I had such a wonderful time with you and I really hope you enjoy your photos! Tell Cesar that a nice bottle of wine will do me just fine, I’m not picky. ;) I love you guys! Anytime you need updated photos… you know where to go! As a matter of fact… let’s book a room at the W for October. Hugs.

I had the pleasure of shooting my longtime friend, Sara, for a Pin Up look that she was going for yesterday. Of course she made my job easy. This is not my normal type of photography and let me tell ya… I was soooo nervous for an entire month. I looked up pin up websites, poses, lighting, etc… for the last month to try and get a feel for it. I don’t know why I was so nervous, maybe because I am totally unfamiliar with this type of style or the fact that I knew she wanted this so badly and I didn’t want to disappoint her in the end. But I had such a great time!!! The music was going in the background and the mood was just right. When I entered her hotel room at the Mondrian, in Scottsdale, I was like… woah… this is going to be tricky… where are we going to put the white backdrop? We have no room!! We ended up doing it on the bed and luckily there was white curtains in the back so she got that white background she was looking for in the end. Yay!!! She was definitely at ease the entire time. She knew exactly what she was doing, thank goodness!! Believe me people, all I did was snap away. She did all the rest! :) Thank you Sara, for giving me this opportunity and for allowing me to step out of the box. You are a natural and I really hope that you pursue your passion in this type of photography if that is what your little heart desires. You are wonderful!!! xoxo

Here is just a sneak peak at what went on yesterday… I will post more after the editing is done and once she gives me the OK with what she would like me to show the world!

Oh how I simply adore my clients!!! Seriously. How cute are Veronica and Alex to take the time to send a personal, handwritten Thank You card??! Who does that anymore these days?? They do! And I love it! It’s the simple things in life that bring a HUGE smile to my face. I just posted their photo session last week. I pretty much rock is basically what she said. :) I’m blushing! Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. That was very kind and thoughtful of you. I had such a great time photographing you and your family and cannot wait to do it again! Hugs.

I had the pleasure of meeting Veronica and her husband last weekend. They were referred to me by my friend Diana Zepeda who is a friend of theirs as well. Veronica called me very excited to get some photos taken so she could put them up on her new website for their realty company, Sueno Realty. This family is adorable. I mean look at this woman… she rocks! We took photos near their lovely home at the Estrella Mountain Park Ranch. It is absolutely gorgeous there! The background looks almost fake. :) Good Luck on your Realty endeavors. I know nothing but the best will come your way!!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your success!

This is what my boys love to do on Sunday’s. Wednesday’s, Saturday’s or any day that allows them to just be boys. I love how much effort they put into this sport. They play for fun. But when it comes to sports is there really such thing as fun? No it’s always a competition… who can shoot better, who can dribble better, who can make the most points. Yes boys will always be boys. These photos were taken in early July when the temperature hit the low 100’s. They were out on the court for an hour or so. Sweating like crazy, playing like they were trying out for pro. But nothing stopped them… they were oblivious to the 108 degree weather. Me on the other hand… was like… “Boys, you almost done? My camera is melting out here! Where is the water fountain? Gosh!” Hee hee… I am not such a trooper people. I shot for an hour then went to sit in my car with the A/C blasting ya’ll!! :D

I love my boys!!!! They make me smile! If I only had half the motivation they did I could lose these 15 pounds that make my pants fit just a little bit too tight.

So as I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I.Love.To.Read. One of my favorite past times is blog stalking. Yes, I will admit, I love to stalk blogs. I read blogs on a daily basis. If this were a job, I could do it full time and be totally content with myself. When I get on a blog site and they mention another link I click on it and continue to do so until I totally forget where I started. And for the life of me… I want to press the back button on my browser to find where I originally started but as many of you know you can not always depend on this… especially if you have totally went crazy with so many different pages. OK World I am very easily distracted and if you post a link, I’m gonna follow it, duh because you obviously wanted me to! I need excitement, I need variety, I need adventure. I was born on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer, so I will blame this on the Gemini in me (there I go again people, easily sidetracked, so annoying!!). Long Story Short. I need something to help me keep all my blogs in one spot. There is one in particular that I am totally obsessed with and that is the all time favorite, fabulous Wedding Photographer, Jasmine Star. She is super funny, super cute and super talented. She blogged about a client whose wedding she photographed. And this girl was uber adorable. I mean drop dead gorgeous. In one of Jasmine’s later posts she blogged about this same client, Alicia, but this time it was for some new photos for her new blog, The Modern Type Photography, was the link Jasmine mentioned… and guess what I did people?? Yup, you guessed it, I clicked on the link. This girl is just as cute as my little fur ball Jasmine. Who would have thought, right? So while reading Alicia’s blog she posted about a great tool that many of you might know about but if you don’t I highly suggest you get with the program people. Google Reader. I love it!! How cool it is to put all your favorite blogs on just one site. Once you log into this cute little guy it lets you know that you have all kinds of new stuff just waiting in que saying, “Read me Read me!!” OK it doesn’t really do that but I imagine that is what it would be saying if it could talk. So now that I have this I will never forget to check up on my favorite peeps. I have them all in one spot. How cool is that?!! No more bookmarking, no more favorites and no more forgetting to write stuff down because you think you will remember it later. It is just there, forever, in one little click of a button and it makes me totally happy! Ahhh! I love you Google Reader, you are my hero. Thank you Alicia for telling the world about this crazy, wicked tool. We appreciate it! And thank you Jasmine Star for making me laugh on a daily basis, and for giving me the inspiration that I so need!!! You are the best!!

Check out the other cool blogs that I stalk: Holritz Photography, Jules Bianchi Photography, Stephanie Fay Photography, Amy Wenzel Photography, The Pioneer Woman and soooo many more.

There are a ton of links for all you peeps so before you start clicking away please remember to save mine to your favorites or shall I say, to your Google Reader. :D

Happy Blog Stalking!

So I love to read. I mean I really love to read. There is nothing like cuddling up on the couch with a soft blankie and reading one of your favorite books to clear your mind of the long, hectic day you just had. I have a HUGE imagination that runs wild (guess that’s the Gemini in me) and when I read it takes me to another place. I love the me time. I love the adventure. I love that I can make up some cool, kick butt characters in my imagination. :) I love to read all the books from Oprah’s Book Club but there are times when 1 book a month is just not enough for me. When I can actually catch a break in life I can read about 2-3 books a month and I need something, somewhere I can easily search to find out what all the cool books are and what all the cool kids are reading.

My friend, Emily Smith, told me about a site called Good Reads about a year or so ago. I have just recently decided to actually check it out to see what the hype was all about and I absolutely LOVE it!! I cannot believe I have not went on this site sooner. It’s a great place to check out all the books your friends are reading and how they are rating them. If you are an avid reader this is definitely something you should stop by and see. Check out some of my favs below.

So this is Bellyna Jae or better known as Belly Bear, Jelly Belly or as I like to call her Marty (inside joke)…. I absolutely adore this little girl with all my heart!!! She just captures something inside of me that tugs a little each time I see her, maybe its because her mother and I are super close but were more so at the time of her pregnancy. This little photo shoot didn’t really go as planned however somehow I was able to catch some great photos. It helps that I have such a cute little model to make it all happen!!! :) Love you Jelly Bean

Here are a few when she was just a few days old. Looking straight into the camera like a little Pro already! :)

She is smiling at me… like she already knows me!

And of course you gotta take a pic of the precious feet

And here are her 6 month photos…
